favourite teacher from school, we will teach you how to be
that favourite teacher.

IDC Staff Instructor
Be able to Staff an IDC
PADI Staff Instructors are
members of the Instructor Devellopment Team. You help the
candidates on their way through the IDC and IE. You are for
the Course Director what a Divemaster is for an OWSI: a
valued team mate and assistant. For working in Instructor
development you receive a "Credit" and - more important -
you stay tuned and up to date regarding PADI Standards, IDC
Programs and conducting courses and different techniques.
During the
Course you will learn about how to evaluate candidates and
the psychology of evaluation. You compare and discuss your
results and impressions with those of other team members and
you will learn a lot about yourself as an evaluator as well.
You will practise your presentation skills in the classroom
and in confined water and you work a lot with your CD Manual
and the PADI Instructor Manual and you will see different
techniques of presentation and teaching. In the end
you will be a better instructor even for
your recreational courses and you will take a lot of ideas
back home. As an IDC staff instructor you are able to
conduct PADI Assistant Instructor courses. The course starts
one day prior to the IDC program and ends with it. You do
not take the Instructor Examination.
This is an
essential additional rating for every serious Scuba
instructor. If you want - for example - teach a Rescue Diver
Course without being reliant
to another
(EFR) Instructor you need to be able to teach a CPR portion
of the course.

Emergency
First Response Corporation a PADI corporate affiliate,
offers the Emergency First Response CPR and first aid
program. The EFR courses are up to date with well designed
student and instructor materials. As an Emergency First
Response Instructor, you can conduct Emergency First
Response Primary (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid)
courses. A further step is the certification as a care for
children instructor. To enrol in this course you don't even
need to be a PADI Divemaster. But you need an · Emergency
First Response certification (or qualifying certification
from another certification organization).
You’ll learn how to conduct the Emergency First Response
Primary Care (CPR) and Emergency First Response Secondary
Care (first aid) courses. You’ll also learn to conduct the
recommended Automated External Defibrillator (AED),
emergency oxygen and conscious choking management skills. In
a second part you will learn how to conduct Care for
Children courses as well.
The Emergency First Response Instructor Course takes
approximately eight hours. Care for Children 6 to 8 hours.
After
becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) you'll
want to teach divers specific types of diving dependant to
what your local area offers. To do this you need to be able
to teach PADI Specialties. By doing so you can heighten your
students' comfort level and strengthening their underwater
skills and expose them to areas that they find interesting,
ultimately leading to their enjoyment of diving more than
ever before.
And the good thing for you: the more specialties you teach
the more you and your Divecenter can offer to the customers
and the more valuable you are for your Divecenter. Another
thing to remember is that specialties add some fun and
variation to your daily instructor life.
When you decide to do your specialties with us, the
advantages for you are: You can teach your specialties
immediately. You save almost 50 % of the application fee.
You learn some tips and tricks which are not mentioned in
the course outlines.
We can offer you the following specialties:
Digital Underwater Photographer, Deep, Wreck, Search &
Recovery, Night, Navigation, Dry Suit, Enriched Air Nitrox,
DSAT Gas Bender Nitrox, Rebreather Dolphin , Rebreather Ray,

takes about one day and will be conducted during a daytrip
or on the beach. Included is always the Instructor course
outline and necessary special equipment. |
