Liveaboards - Mermaid 2

modern steel hulled vessel, built in 2000
specifically for diving. She's a big (32 metre)
and very stable boat with lots of power to get
you to the dive sites quickly and comfortably.

This Thailand dive liveaboard is one of our most
popular choices because of the spacious, well
thought out facilities and also because of the
itinerary. You can take a regular four day
Similan cruise or a two day / three night cruise
to the southern sites and islands of Hin Daeng,
Hin Muang, Koh Ha and Phi Phi Islands. But the
most popular aspect is that you can combine the
two safaris into one 6 day / 7 night Andaman Sea
Safari and get the very best of Thailand diving
in one magical trip.
Mermaid II offers you the choice of enriched air
nitrox diving. The tour leader has a computer
available for digital photo downloads
and CD burning. Diving is conducted from two
fast and convenient dinghies.
You can dive with air or enriched air nitrox on
the Mermaid II trips. If you're not nitrox
certified, the PADI Nitrox Specialty can be
completed on board, as can other PADI Speciality
courses such as Underwater Photographer. The
dive platform and kit up area has lots of
storage space with separate rinse tanks for your
dive gear and camera equipment.
The boat has two saloons. The main deck saloon
is where food is served. There are always snacks
available in here such as yoghurts, fresh
fruits, cereals and cookies. The upper deck
saloon houses the home entertainment system of
TV, DVD and stereo. There is an extensive movie
and music library as well as plenty of books in
several languages. The fresh sea breezes and
cool air make this a great socialising area in
the evenings.
To the front of the wheelhouse there is a large
open area with sun loungers, perfect for tanning
by day or star gazing at night.
Cabins, Berths, Showers,
Bathrooms... There are eight twin bunk and
double bed Standard cabins on the main deck with
en-suite private bathrooms, and two noisier twin
bunk bed Budget cabins on the lower deck with
shared bathroom (that we do not recommend).
All the
cabins have:
- Air conditioning
- Large seaview
window (except lower deck)
- Toilet and hot
water shower for every two cabins -
unlimited showering
- Bedding and
towels
- Hand basin and
mirror
